Bittersweet Chocolate

Together with ESG Halle and Anika Wagner from Weltladen Halle, we want to spend a day exploring the bittersweet topic of chocolate. In Germany, we eat an average of almost 10 kg per person per year. Many people already know that this pleasure often goes hand in hand with poor working conditions for Africa's cocoa farmers. But what are the actual causes of the unfair conditions in chocolate production and how effective is fair trade in eliminating these conditions?
After exploring these questions, we would like to visit the oldest chocolate factory in Germany, the Halloren chocolate factory in Halle.
